Storm Warning (Pending Registration)

Storm Warning.  Bremer.   2026.  P. rockii influence hybrid.  (“Yin Zhuang Su Guo” x ‘Angel Emily’).  Seedling #SH129.  Semi-double  to double flowers are violet-purple in color.  Petals twist, turn and are highly notch/frilled at the outer edges.  Stimas are light red and filaments are the same color and lighten toward the end.  Pollen and seed fertility. Foliage is red tinted in the early part of the season.  Leaflets are small and well spaced.  Flowers are carried in profusion at the top of the plants.   5.5 inch blooms are well proportioned and displayed well.  Dormant buds after leaf fall are bright red and ornamental.  Excellent stem hardiness.  Plants are vase shaped and reach 4 feet in height in Wisconsin.  The overall appearance of the flowers are ornately lacey.  Parent to many fine seedlings under evaluation.  Ships in late September to mid October.  AGE: Field grown, 4+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
