Taihai (2 year graft)

Taihai.  Japan.  Before 1928.  Unregistered historic Japanese suffruticosa cultivar.  A large full double pink flower with rosette formations within the petal masses.  Outer petals a light pink and inner petals dark.  Medium green elegant foliage.  Plants may reach 5 feet in Wisconsin.  Excellent plant with superior display.   Not widely distributed and deserving of much greater attention.  Seed fertility. Ships in late September to mid October. These are 2 year old grafted plants.  While plants are relatively small, they have youthful vigor and make wonderful additions to the garden.  Plant and grow them as you would older woody peonies.
