Tiger Tiger. Saunders. 1948. F1 lutea hybrid. Saunders’ Banquet Group.  Seedling #: 16538. Red-cream-peach blend colored flowers with maroon flares and red sheath. Single. Beautiful flower. Plants have poor stem hardiness and regrow rapidly each year from basal shoots (Wisconsin). Annual growth may reach 4 feet. Bloom can be sparse in years when stems are completely killed to the ground. Beautiful foliage is tinted red for much of the season and is finely dissected and notched. No fertility noted. Anthers are waxy.  Tiger Tiger and Summer Night may be synonyms; thus, we recommend purchasing one or the other unless you would like to collect plants by name. Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
