Beach Comber. Bremer. 2019. Advanced generation lutea hybrid. Parentage is Sedona x Autumn Harvest. Very large semi-double to double old rose with cream outer petals. Petals are highly ruffled, creating a full-looking flower. Excellent outward carriage of flowers on strong stems. Up to three buds per stem, creating a long bloom season. Fertile both ways easily. Plants to 4 feet. Cream sheath, green stigmas, red filaments. Short red flares are less than 1/3 of the petal length. Has broad, large, deep green leaves that are dissected and pointed. Woody stems have exhibited better-than-average hardiness and longevity. Plants are taller than wide and are excellent performers, and can be depended upon to produce a beautiful display of large flowers.  In Wisconsin, this plant can reach heights of 5 feet or more, after 10 years.  This plant represents one of the finest advanced generation lutea hybrids to date (my opinion). Fertile both ways.  Extremely limited and in high demand.  Beach Comber has the largest flowers of all lutea hybrids. Ships in late September to mid-October.  AGE: Field-grown, 3+ year old graft or division from larger plants – our choice of available plant material upon harvest.
